No, you're thinking of Ganondorf, king of the thieves. Gannon takes over Ganondorf's body sometime between the part where you get the Goron Jewel and when you see him chaseing off Zelda. Around that time they refer to Ganondorf as Gannon.

Haha. but they are two seperate beings!
I think that Gannon in Windwaker has taken ganondorf's body and uses that as his permanent vessel. The Hero of Winds would never have been able to defeat Gannon in his demon form. But unlike all other Links, the Hero of Winds managed to defeat Gannon before his plan could unfold.
